School District Summer Maintenance Program

🔧 The Challenge

A public school district with 12 buildings needed to complete a year's worth of deferred maintenance during the 10-week summer break. The scope included HVAC servicing, painting, flooring replacement, restroom renovations, exterior repairs, and safety upgrades across all buildings. The district's maintenance staff of 4 could not handle the volume, and previous contractors had missed deadlines, forcing last-minute scrambles before the school year started.

Auxi deployed 8 crews simultaneously across the district's 12 buildings. A master schedule was created that sequenced work by building and trade to maximize efficiency. HVAC servicing was completed first (3 weeks), followed by painting and flooring (weeks 3-7), and finally restroom renovations and exterior repairs (weeks 6-10). Daily progress reports were shared with district facilities staff, and a real-time dashboard showed completion status for each building and scope item.

✅ The Outcome

All 12 buildings were completed on time before the school year started. The district completed 340 work orders including 48 HVAC system services, 28 classroom repaints, 14 flooring replacements, and 6 restroom renovations. The project came in 8 percent under budget due to efficient crew scheduling. The district's facilities director reported zero open work orders at the start of the school year for the first time in district history.
